It is my great pleasure to extend you an invitation to attend the 4th Baltic Atherosclerosis Congress, which will be held in Tallinn, September 27-29, 2007.

The Baltic Atherosclerosis Society is the society fighting against atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, especially in the Baltic countries. The scientific programme will continue the tradition of the previous successful Baltic Atherosclerosis Congresses.

1st Baltic Atherosclerosis Congress was organised by the Baltic Society of Atherosclerosis in Tallinn in 1997. Two next congresses have been hosted by Vilnius and Riga. In 2007 we are back in Tallinn again.

The programme will include risk factors and patogenesis of atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, diabetes and atherosclerosis, recent developments of lipid-lowering therapy, abdominal obesity, hypertension and atherosclerosis. Round table "Atherosclerosis prevention and treatment in Baltic countries: are we doing enough?" is finalising the congress.
